Dino egg looking seeds from White Rock Lake in Dallas

I found some sort of seeds while taking a walk on the lake. It looks like two dinosaur eggs. One already fell apart. The sirup that comes out smells yummie. I wondered about what kind of tree these guys came from. I never saw that before.

Its seeds of a cypress. A tree that grows at White Rock Lake in Dallas. *yay* Now also I know who/what a Nancy Drew is. I ve been named like that, because I searched as long as I found out what it was. Find out on your own (I guess the american guys do know it instantly ;) ).
